Vishal conducts analysis, performs due diligence, and monitors venture capital funds and the venture industry. Vishal brings extensive capital allocation and LP investing experience with expertise in early-stage venture capital and exposure across asset classes.
Prior to joining Next Legacy in 2022, Vishal worked as a portfolio manager with the investment team at Plexo Capital, an institutional investor allocating capital across early-stage venture capital funds and companies. Along with the due diligence process, he was also involved in the portfolio construction and financial models for the firm. He published the contents and supported the community through GPx, a program to assist investors transition into fund managers. Before entering the venture capital world, Vishal was a quantitative researcher with the macro investable indices and commodities desk at J.P Morgan. He helped build structured index products on risk premia strategies like the J.P Morgan Mozaic Index. He was also involved with the pricing and valuation models for commodity instruments like swaps, options, etc.
Vishal holds a Master’s degree in Financial Engineering from UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business, where he did an internship with a multinational hedge fund. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from BITS Pilani, India and has cleared CFA level 1. He also has graduated from VC University, a program hosted by NVCA, Venture Forward, and UC Berkeley. Outside of work, Vishal enjoys reading DC comics, watching UK panel shows, building computer games, and following Cricket and Chess.
